Marilyn Monroe

Johnny Ray

Weegee got his name as a news photographer for Acme in the 1920's, when Ouija boards were the rage, because of his psychic knack for getting to the scene of a disaster before it happened.

To make these pictures, Weegee takes a straighforward photograph of the subject, then performs a mysterious darkroom ritual with a glass and plastic filters and a special, out-of-wack lens invented by himself, which he attaches to the enlarger.

William Klein try's his hand at the effect to announce the news of stretch stockings.
